DAY 1 TOPIC
Sharing
1. Teach Your Kids to Share
Teach your kids to share. Give them a lot of something (food, toys, etc.) and ask them to give part of what they have to their siblings. If they don’t do it, don't demand they share but instead encourage them by saying, “You have more than enough. Try again! You will make your brother/sister so happy.” Then when they do it, really praise them for it!
2. Look for Opportunities in Sharing Conflicts
Remember, "The relationship is more important than the object." When you see your kids arguing over something, simply say that statement to them and tell them you will have to put the object away unless they can figure out how to share it. Have them come back to you in a few minutes to tell you how they are going to share it. If they can’t find a way, then put the object away for a while and tell them you will give them a chance to do it again later.
