DAY 2 TOPIC

Hitting & Biting

1. Teach Your Child to Use Their Words

Tell your child you want to help them stop hitting and/or biting. And when they feel like hitting or biting someone, you want them to come and tell you about it so you can help them do it differently. Think of ways you are going to give them an outlet.

2. Find a Consistent Consequence

Think of a consistent consequence your child will get for hitting or biting. Maybe it’s a time out. Maybe they don’t get to play with whatever they want at the time. Decide what the right consequence is and be consistent with it to show the child this will happen every time they decide to hit or bite.
